Rudeles is a family business which was founded to build upon the passion and labour of the owners’ fathers and grandfathers and develop the wine culture which had almost disappeared in this particular area. Rudeles has four owners and all of them have strong ties to Peñalba.
The name Rudeles comes from the first letters of the names of the four owners: Ruperez, del Hoyo and Espinel.
From the beginning, they have tried to make the most of their biggest asset, 90-year old vineyards, and to respect the terroir by producing interesting award winning wines.
CARING DOWN TO THE VERY LAST DETAIL
Their award winning wines reflect their terroir. Their objective is to make the best possible wine and not to produce large quantities. We made only 2,000 bottles of the first vintage and although we now produce 41,000, we will never sacrifice our principles of quality for the sake of a larger quantity.
THE SECRET OF THEIR WINES
The basis of the quality of our fine Spanish wines is a constant and thorough dedication to our vineyards. The terroir and the bush vines mean that all the tasks are manual.
In the winery the whole wine process from the grape reception, to fermentation, ageing, racking and bottling) is strictly controlled. At the same time, we take into account the advice and age-old customs of the villagers who made wine for their own consumption over hundreds of years in traditional underground cellars.
